We would like to acknowledge that we reside on Treaty 8 territory. Indigenous peoples of this region have existed here since time immemorial, and we thank those who have gone before us for their care and stewardship of these lands. We are grateful to the Beaver, Cree, Dene, and Metis peoples for allowing us to live, work, and grow in this beautiful territory.

The Vision of T8GP

This website serves a variety of purposes:

  • Welcome New Community Members. If you just moved to Grande Prairie, it can be hard to find your community! We want you to feel welcome and have access to the information you need.

  • Using Our Voice. Our voices are a gift from the Creator. With all gifts come responsibility. We understand our responsibility to contribute our unique perspectives and lived experience to the discourse surrounding local issues. Together, our voice is stronger!

  • Support One Another. We hope this space will grow into a supportive online community. We encourage you to participate in discussions on the T8GP Blog. Submissions are welcome and encouraged! Send us an email with your artwork, poems, essays, or personal musings to be featured.

  • Localized Cultural Education. As Alberta teachers are mandated to incorporate Indigenous content into their curriculum, we recognize that there is a need for educational resources. We will share this information under the Educational Resources tab. If you are an educator, we would love to hear from you! What do you need to feel supported?

Thanks for being here. Whether you are an Indigenous community member, or someone hoping to learn more about Indigenous issues, we welcome your contributions and look forward to building community with you. Ay-hiy.

We welcome your feedback! Email to connect.
